More exhibitions this spring at Cajutan Restaurant
The success of photo/art exhibitions at the Cajutan restaurant continues. After the premiere on March 9th with the photographer Thomas Engström’s excellent pictures from his long career mainly in the USA, the owner Zdeni Claesson has already booked two new exhibitions for April and May.
- “There were about 50 people at Cajutan’s exhibition premiere last Saturday and it was better than my wildest expectations. It was also great to see many people who have never been to Cajutan previously”, Zdeni says happily.
Among the visitors were Norway’s Thai Ambassador Kjersti Rødsmoen and the President of the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce Aina Eidsvik. Also, street photographer Göran Ehren was in place, he is also the father of Miss Universe Thailand 2017, Maria Poonlertlarp.
Other Bangkokian’s enjoying the event were Mia Palmkvist from Mammas Kök and Swedish radio correspondent Peder Gustafsson with his wife Lotta Johansson – just to name a few. A selection of drinks were also served with finger food.
Swedish restaurants have been under represented in the market of Bangkok through the years. But Cajutan has succeeded since opening in 2016 and to assist with developing the concept further the idea of having exhibitions came from Zdeni and Cajutan ambassador Helena Säfsten a few months ago.
Following the success of the first photo exhibition, a similar one is now being planned with Michael Baines – ‘the man who saves dogs’ – in April. Michael has become world famous for saving dogs from a certain death in Bang Saen southeast of Bangkok.
Göran Ehren´s pictures from Chinatown in Bangkok will be shown in May, tells Zdeni Claesson.
Together with the new manager Stefan Hallin, an Easter buffet is planned on April 20th and in time the introduction of the traditional Swedish pancakes and pea soup every Thursday, not forgetting the warm Swedish punch as tradition prescribes.
For those that missed the opening, don’t worry, Thomas Engstrom’s beautiful photos are still here to be viewed until end of March.
